چکیده

In the present work, adsorption mechanism and capacity of MWCNTs/CoFe2O4 nanocomposite as an adsorbent were investigated. Levofloxacin (LFX), a widely used antibiotic, was selected hazardous model contaminant in aqueous solutions. The surface inner characterization obtained via SEM/TEM, XRD, BET/BJH, pHPZC. These analyses indicated that possess excellent pore characteristics, e.g., specific area, volume, mean diameter, which 72 m2/g, 0.51 cm3/g, 65 nm, respectively. results demonstrate by supplementing 1 g/L at experimental conditions pH value 5, temperature 30 °C, initial LFX concentration 50 mg/L mixing time 90 min, significant outcome 99.3% removal achieved. To identify phenomenon adsorption, thermodynamic parameters ΔH° ΔS° calculated, nature onto endothermic spontaneous. Nine isotherm models, including four two-parameter five three-parameter addition, regression coefficient well error models calculated for nonlinear models. According to goodness fit tests, equilibrium data coordinated with Freundlich Sips isotherms. kinetics study showed fitted pseudo-second-order model, molecules occurred through several stages from intraparticle diffusion. conclusion, work evinces wastewater can be efficiently treated process using nanocomposite.

Adsorption Isotherm and Kinetics Study: Removal of Phenol Using Adsorption onto Modified Pistacia mutica shells

Background and purpose: Phenol is an aromatic hydrocarbon and one of the banzan derivatives which has a higher dissolution rate in water. Therefore, it must be removed for water pollution prevention. The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of Pistaciamuticabio mass as an alternative adsorbent for phenol removal from aqueous solution. Materials and Methods: The effect of variou...

Kinetics and isotherm studies of Remazol Red adsorption onto polyaniline/ cerium oxide nanocomposites

Polyaniline/cerium oxide (PANI/CeO2) composites were prepared and characterized by XRD, FT-IR, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms and TEM techniques. The PANI/CeO2 composites were used for removal of Remazol Red (RB-133) from aqueous solution. The adsorption behaviour of dye was studied at different experimental conditions of solution pH and reaction temperature. The adsorption isotherm s...

Kinetic modeling of methylene blue adsorption onto acid-activated spent tea: A comparison between linear and non-linear regression analysis

The kinetic study of methylene blue (MB) adsorption using acid-activated spent tea (AAST) as an adsorbent from aqueous solution with the aim of comparing linear and non-linear regression analysis methods was performed at varying initial MB concentrations (10-100 mg/l). Hence, spent tea leaves, which were activated using concentrated sulfuric acid, were prepared. The physicochemical characterist...

Adsorption of Phenolic Compounds onto the Activated Carbon Synthesized from Pulp and Paper Mill Sludge: Equilibrium Isotherm, Kinetics, Thermodynamics and Mechanism Studies

A new activated carbon was produced from pulp and paper mill sludge as a low cost precursor via chemical activation by zinc chloride. The activated carbon was successfully used for the adsorption of phenol and two of its derivatives, i.e. 2-chlorophenol and 4-nitrophenol from aqueous solutions. The characterization of the prepared activated carbon demonstrated high textural properties for the s...

Further Study of Adsorption of Crude Oils onto Acetylated Corn Silk and its Kinetics and Equilibrium Isotherm

Oil spills from tanker or oil well have detrimental effects on environment and economy. One of the most economical and efficient methods for oil spill clean-up is mechanical extraction by sorbents which are not only the safest methods but also the least expensive of spill control. The potential use of agricultural by-products such as corn silk for adsorbent of crude oil from water systems was p...
